When you think of modesty, what comes to mind? Is it Bigger/ Baggy clothes? Clothes with no color? Or even long skirts to your knees? It amazes me how the average person thinks of modesty, almost as if you've used a curse word. Modesty has become something most people think happens in the olden days. In reality, this idea is far from true if we look at the true definition of modesty!
Modesty means to have regard for decency of behavior, speech, dress, etc. It doesn't mean you have to lose your sense of fashion; you can still be fashionable, comfy, and trendy while holding that standard.
Psalm 45:11, (NIV) "Let the king be enthralled (captured) by your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord,"
In this powerful scripture, I've learned to ask myself first, would the Lord be pleased with my clothes?
As a company, GWD desires to help maintain your modesty before the Lord. Here are some quick tips to keep in mind when choosing outfits.
- If your shirt or dress cuts too low, be sure to add a camisole.
- For shorter dresses, ads leggings or a pair of jeggings.
